Ok, now I get it, it's only because I've never seen "ou" written like that, even for japanese characters, so let's leave it this way... I misunderstood what you said about creating new articles, but I already know how to do them, I did the Goryoumaru, Moryomaru and Tatarimokke ones. I'll leave the youkai list on the main page but will create a new article next time. Thanks for all the help! Edit: I changed my mind, I'm doing the list here Youkai list

Raquel Sama 21:26, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I'm not sure if I know hou to divide an arcticle in sections. could you do this for me :P And I don't know if it's you who is changing it back, but I think the character names should be Shippou, Kikyou, and Toutoussai, instead of Shippo, Kikyo and Totosai. Most IY fans know the names this way. Anyway, thanks for the help! I'll try to add descriptions to the youkai when I have time, fell free to do it too if you want :) ~Raquel Sama

Thanks for the welcome message :) Yeah, I'm new here but I've already read most of the help section, I just can't find out how to write what I updated on the arcticle to appear on that page history. I gess I'll find it out sooner or latter. Now I want to make the Inuyasa arcticle bigger. Did you do what's already done there? ~ Raquel Sama

Emperorbma, any particular reason you changed the link for .hack//SIGN from the aforementioned link to dot hack sign?

Pipian 23:26 4 Jun 2003 (UTC)

Yeah, I didn't know whether '/' and '.' characters would work properly for links... I stand corrected, they obviously do!

Hm. Nice idea over at Holocene - I feel another WikiProject is about to be born. Take a look at WikiProject Tree of Life to get a sense of how your idea may be expanded (thinking about having all periods in one table withe the current period (in ref to the article) having epochs and the current epoch not being a link (just bolded). Very interesting! --mav 07:03 22 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I've got most of the eras with the side bar by now. Thanks, I thought it would be useful. Emperorbma 07:10 22 Jul 2003 (UTC)
P.S. I borrowed that style from the History of Germany series. Emperorbma

On the WikiProject... I think there is a lot that can be done still with the Navbar, so I will found the Geologic Timescale WikiProject.

Image:Simu title.png turned out pretty huge; might it work better as a jpeg? - Hephaestos 09:27, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Yeah, I think I might see about shrinking that a bit. :P -- Emperorbma 09:33, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Done. I usually just leave 'em though, as long as they're not on a page affecting load time (I think they've got plenty of disk space <g>). - Hephaestos 09:41, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Thanks. :) -- Emperorbma 09:45, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Um, can we get a small and a large version? The current one is tiny :-(. For comparison, see the screenshot I added to Cuyo. It would be a shame if we didn't use our freshly granted permission for lavish illustration..—Eloquence 09:57, Dec 18, 2003 (UTC)
Thing is the large one will be much bigger (size wise, 200 KB) than the original one I uploaded. Sigh... d@#% Windows's lack of graphics editors... -- Emperorbma 10:01, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Gah, and I had already uploaded that honking 200KB image... Image:Simuscreen big.jpg can be nuked, too. --- Emperorbma 10:15, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Sorry about that. Deleted. Anyway, it looks nice now. There's plenty of free image conversion and retouching programs for Linux, BTW, including the fantastic GIMP.—Eloquence
Yeah, sorry 'bout the mess. I know, that is why I want to throw BORG away asap, but I can't get the sound to work after that last kernel upgrade.... Thus I am initiated into the modern world of stress and worry ^_^;; -- Emperorbma 10:19, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)
Manual kernel upgrades are one of the woes of the Linux world, and there hasn't really been a good solution yet. You can use ready made monolithic kernels, but those might miss an option you need. The new 2.6 kernel at least includes ALSA by default, which should make sound configuration easier and more powerful, as it moves much of it into userland.—Eloquence 10:24, Dec 18, 2003 (UTC)

For what it's worth, I think these turned out great. Guess the angsting paid off.  :) - Hephaestos 16:50, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Are these stub edits going on much longer? I can register you as a bot if you want (hides edits from RC), but I would prefer to do that with a separate account.—Eloquence

I recommend merging man-eating lions into lion and leaving a redirect in place. I can do it, but then it will look in the page history as if I added the information to lion, so you probably should do it yourself.—Eloquence

Hi, I fixed Post-Occupation Japan by letting decades be the marker to separate events. While this is not the perfect solution as it is at odd with 'Nengou', I think it let people find a specific event more easily. Do check it out. Thanks.

Did you want "BURAIAN" instead of "BURIIAN" as part of your displayed name? Sounds as if you call yourself "Breean" rather than "Brian". --pne 15:16, 3 Apr 2004 (UTC)

eh. I was under the impression Katakana were used like English letters. Allright then, that makes more sense. Arigatou gozaimasu... (I suffer tha gaijin syndrome...) -- EmperorBMA / ブライアン 18:39, 3 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Kasumigaseki Correction

Hello Emperorbma,

Regarding your change to Kasumigaseki, the previous version was correct. The small katakana "ke" appears in many place names, with the pronunciation "ga". Here, it's correct. See the Japanese Wikipedia for confirmation (or Google in Japanese).

Your Sig

I was wondering: what do the Japanese characters in your (current) sig mean, and how are they pronounced? I tried to figure it out myself using a dictionary, but all I could tell for sure is that the last character (in Hepburn) is "su." It is hard to tell for the first one, since kanji have different possible readings. --Josh

Thanks. It actually was in the top two, and the one before it was pretty similar, I just wanted to be sure. --Josh
Oh, now I get it. The 話す in your sig is really a "Talk" link, but in Japanese. Clever! --Josh

templates for geologic periods

It's no problem, really :) It's only a pity that I couldn't preserve the coloring at the same time, i.e. that the background of the shown period is white while the background of others is gray. But oh well, maybe someone will think of a slick CSS or Mediawiki way to do that too one day. --Shallot 20:27, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)

adding to Categories for Deletion

When adding stuff to WP:CFD please add it to the top. Some pages are top down, others bottom up, look carefully before leaping. Anyway, merge completed, thanks for your efforts. --ssd 06:19, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)

This article, which you just edited, has a link to I-185, a dis-ambiguation page with 2 choices, neither of which is what is appropriate for the article to have a link to. Can you add the third choice that the link is meant to be for into the dis-ambiguation page?? 66.245.94.89 23:38, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Help with taxobox in new article

While checking new pages, I came across Cockles. It is currently a substub but could probably be expanded. I have no experience with taxoboxes and was wondering if you would add one to that article? Thank you. SWAdair | Talk 00:17, 8 Aug 2004 (UTC)

 • Thank you for the link to ToL WikiProject. I've created a test taxobox in my sandbox. Would you be willing to take a look at it and let me know what else I need to do? Is there a list of taxotags somewhere that I could use to fill in the other information? BTW, I have wandered into completely new territory -- no knowledge of taxonomy, taxoboxes, etc. I'm learning on the fly, here, just trying to flesh out a new page someone else created. Again, thank you for any help you can provide. SWAdair | Talk 01:00, 8 Aug 2004 (UTC)
 • Found it! I've added a link to the list of taxobox components to the ToL page, under the Placement section. SWAdair | Talk 03:44, 8 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Prefectures

This is kinda a controversial issue. Do other people know you're moving these, or are you doing this unilaterally? Mike H 20:40, Aug 8, 2004 (UTC)

That's the reason why I said something. They had been moved to all caps no more than two days ago. Mike H 21:03, Aug 8, 2004 (UTC)
Try Timwi. IIRC, he was the one who moved them to caps. Mike H 21:07, Aug 8, 2004 (UTC)

Taxobox binomial+trinomial

Are you sure it's appropriate for a taxobox to have both the binomial and trinomial sections (Cat)? I don't know, it just looks funny. --Yath 06:36, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)

At first I thought they were redundant, with the trinomial name just adding the subspecies, but now I see that they are very different, just sharing the genus, and having different species (on Dog and Cat). So including them both makes sense. On the other hand, for the binomial and trinomial names to use different species seems very strange, perhaps even wrong. Do you know if that's normal? --Yath 06:50, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Academic Decathlon

I didn't know about the page you had created for Academic Decathlon prior to creating one at the official name of United States Academic Decathlon. I went ahead and redirected Academic Decathlon to United States Academic Decathlon after checking to make sure that the latter article contained all the information of the former. I invite you to look over the article and add anything you feel is appropriate.

I'm trying to dig up history and competition scores after someone else suggested it to me. If you were at any of the national competitions, let me know, and/or fill in the blanks. Over the next few days I should have pages up for most of the years competitions. My alma mater should have results back to 1997, so I'm going to try to get those this week. If you know anyone else who has old info, let me know. CryptoDerk 12:56, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

Sorry to hear about the loss of the acadec program in that area. Kentucky's much much less competitive than Texas. The years I did it, from 97 to 99 the state competition dropped from 14 to 6 teams. Now I hear it's down to 2. Our school was apparently beaten a couple years ago, and the team that won didn't want to bother going with nationals so our school went. Oh well. If you know of any websites with old results/discussion of past topics, let me know. CryptoDerk 19:02, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)

The article Rurouni Kenshin has been vandalized. Or someone just made a big mistake. Anyway, the article was being edited heavily, so I tried to revert the changes back as much as I could with trying to leave as much of the valid changes existing. However, I've noticed you have made several edits to this article, and I am asking you to please look over the article to make sure everything is okay on the article. --AllyUnion 08:38, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

I've "started" the Free the Rambot Articles Project which aims to get users to release all of their contributions to the U.S. state, county, and city articles (if any) under the CC-by-sa 1.0 and 2.0 license (at minimum) or into the public domain if they prefer. A secondary, but equally important, goal is to get those users to release ALL of their edits for ALL articles. I've personally chosen to multi-license all of the rambot and Ram-Man contributions under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License so that other projects, such as WikiTravel, can use our articles. I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all your contributions (or at minimum those on the geographic articles) so that we can keep most of the articles available under the multi-license. Many users use the DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual template (or even MultiLicensePD for public domain) on their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. If you only prefer using the GFDL, I understand, but I thought I'd at least ask, just in case, since the number of your edits is in the top 100. If you do want to do it, simply just copy and paste one of the above two templates into your user page and it will allow us to track those users who have done it. For example:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain (which many people do or don't like to do, see Wikipedia:Multi-licensing), you could replace DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual with MultiLicensePD -- Ram-Man 23:19, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)

Category: InuYasha objects...

hi, i've noticed that you have created a category named InuYasha objects....

exactly how this helps readers in better finding the items in the manga than the template InuYashaItems? No offense, but i think this category is unnecessary as first, it only contains a few items; second, object is a very vague word; third, the most you are going to have in this 'category' will be those same ones from the template InuYashaItems.....

Just like the template INuYashaCharacters, InuYashaItems present readers with a clearly view of all notable items that appears in the anime/manga, however it is incomplete, but it is more complete than this category.

If there are no majority of objections, i will nominate for a deletion of this category.

I hope you understand my reasons. Your feedback is welcomed. LG-犬夜叉 00:23, Feb 10, 2005 (UTC)

Heisei

Hello Emperorbma,

In the article Heisei, you added the note that the name was introduced by the current Emperor of Japan. However, as I recall, it was introduced by Keizo Obuchi, then (if memory serves) Chief Cabinet Secretary, later Prime Minister. Of course, it's possible that there were multiple introductions: one on television, one to the Diet etc. so maybe we're both right. What's your recollection? Fg2 12:10, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. Personally, what I remember most was the jet lag, and replay after replay of the announcement! Fg2 06:41, Apr 18, 2005 (UTC)

Shichinintai

What name is used for the Shichinininai in the English-language manga? WhisperToMe 03:25, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Mr. Emperorbma In Japanese, the family name is recorded in front of first name.

About how to sign a Japanese name

MR.Emperorbma American will think the word previously recorded to be first name. Therefore, I recorded family name by the capital letter according to the rule of an international display. As for Chinese's name, first name is recorded after family name in English, though the same Chinese character is used. I want you the start-up of the discussion of this disunity. Traianus

Thanks you.
I understood your opinion and the Manual of Style on Japanese Name, and will follow this rule in the future. However, I think this rule to be American's cultural centrism, hope for this rule to be reconsidered.Traianus
