Breed standard section[edit]

This section needs improvement. For one thing, it should be real prose not a clipped "checklist". See Turkish Van#Breed standard for an example. Bogus sources[edit]

Please be on the lookout for spammy attempts to insert links to breeder sites and directories as "sources". I've recently removed two of these. They may take the form of short summaries of the breed, cobbled together from memory or perhaps from uncited publsihed sources, but they do not constitute reliable sources for Wikipedian purposes, and do not help establish verifiability. They are generally also a conflict of interest, inserted by people promoting the site, and violate our external linking standards. Such links are common in cat and dog articles and frequently reverted, but tend to stick around in articles like this one, about smaller breeds with few regular editors. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(^Õل^ō)ˀ Contribs. 19:33, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
