Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

I noticed a bunch of churches missing in 'places of worship' from China Grove. I suspect more are missing from other places.

Inline external links[edit]

Per WP:EL the articles shouldn't have so many inline external links. Most are not really needed as they are not directly about the subject of the article. I have corrected, updated and deleted many here, but article still needs more work. Thank you in advance for any of your help. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 20:04, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Law and government section[edit]

In case some were wondering, I took out the ELs in section that related to the NC Constitution and NC Statutes when I expanded the section. These aren't really necessary since we already know that the county is within North Carolina. I'd only include something like that if, for some reason, the county didn't fall under that jurisdiction.

Secondly, I just wonder if the listing of law enforcement officials is really needed or notable. I could see including the Sheriff in the article since it is about the county, but do we need all the municipality LE listings? I'm going ahead and taking out the Livingstone College Campus Police listing. It's really not notable. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 20:04, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Places of worship[edit]

Is the listing of all the places of worship in Rowan really needed and notable? -- JoannaSerah (talk) 20:20, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to say something about the listing of all the churches there myself and saw your comment, albeit older comment. Taking it out as completely unnecessary, not notable as you say and also per WP:NOTDIRECTORY. If any are individually notable (having their own article), then a paragraph about it could be put in. Col. David Vance[edit]

Took out listing for Colonel David Vance under notable people. He wasn't really notable for Rowan County. He wasn't born in Rowan and only after the Revolutionary war did he settle in an area that used to be part of Rowan County (that later became Burke County). Don't think he really needs to be listed in the Rowan article. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 20:50, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Court: Rowan commissioners' prayer practice violates Constitution[edit]

Coverage needs to be a part of the article;Court: Rowan commissioners' prayer practice violates Constitution

http://www.wral.com/appeals-court-board-s-prayer-practice-is-unconstitutional/16819526/

the article states; ""The principle at stake here may be a profound one, but it is also simple. The Establishment Clause does not permit a seat of government to wrap itself in a single faith," Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III wrote in the majority opinion that was joined by nine other judges."
