Pine Barrens[edit]

Is there a reason you moved Pine Barrens to Pine Barrens (New Jersey)? Is there another Pine Barrens that this need sto be disambiguated from? - UtherSRG 12:30, 13 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I move any disambiguated title to the non-disambigged title if there is a redirect in place, because it's silly to have a non-disambigged title redirect to the disambigged one. I'd say there's no need to make it a disambiguation page because if the general term is encyclopedia-worthy, it should be at pine barrens and a disambig block at the top of both pages would take care of things nicely... Staten Island Ferry[edit]

Noticed you comment on the Staten Island Ferry on the picture of a Staten Island street that you uploaded. There already is a picture of the ferry, feel free to add it to the article, it would probably make a nice addition. — © Alex756 03:21, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Image tag[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Midland Beach.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Aqua 07:55, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)

Wanting to talk to you about wikipedia, games, etc.[edit]

Hey, you added an attention flag to orochi a long while back. Do you think it's OK to take it off now or do you think the page still needs to be improved? --Carl 13:40, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Yoshi smw2.PNG[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Yoshi smw2.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 18:27, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:VG Interview[edit]

This hasn't hit the mainstream yet, but today is an important day for WP:VG. We've reached our 10 year anniversary! The WP:VG Newsletter crew are interested in running a feature this quarter on the early days of WP:VG and because you are one of the earliest contributors to the WikiProject, we need your help. In the last 10 years a lot has changed and we'd love to hear your perspective on it. One of the biggest changes may be your level of participation in the WikiProject or even in Wikipedia generally. This is why I'm contacting you almost 2 months before the newsletter is due to come out (it's due on April 2). I'm hoping that you'll have time somewhere between now and then to answer a few general questions reflecting on WP:VG and Wikipedia in general. Please contact me here if you would be willing to answer a few questions for our anniversary article. If you can participate, please mark this beside your name on the list, and if you can't participate please also mark this on the list by deleting your name or overstriking it. I hope this will be a fun and interesting quarter for the WP:VG Newsletter! Thanks in advance. -Thibbs (talk) 12:39, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 • PS - If you'd prefer, I could also contact you by email. Let me know if that would be more convenient for you. -Thibbs (talk) 22:29, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
