First American Pale Lager[edit]

It's very unlikely John Wagner brewed a Pale Lager in 1840, especially as he was a Bavarian. Very little Pale Lager was brewed outside Bohemia before the 1870's. Bavarian Lager was pretty well all dark until the 1890's.

Oktoberfest export[edit]

The article says, Munich breweries would export Oktoberfest beer darker than the ones sold in Munich. I highly doubt that and also the source doesn't seem to be an actual source. Can anyone clarify that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.147.233.152 (talk) 19:08, 6 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Spezial[edit]

There is no beer type called "Spezial". There is a brewery called "Spezial" in Bamberg and there's a rarely used suffix "Spezial" for beers that have 13%+ wort ("Manche Biere führen noch die Zusatzbezeichnung »Spezial«. Die bezieht sich lediglich auf den Gehalt an Extrakt: »Spezial«-Biere sind Vollbiere, die über 13 Prozent Stammwürze haben."). I'll delete the paragraph.
