These hitch-hiker jokes show up a lot, for example "Mostly harmless" gets inserted into Earth's article on a regular basis. I just delete 'em; I only respect jokes inserted into Wikipedia when they're truly subtle. :) Bryan

What, No instances of "Earth --- entry missing."

The series' proper title is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy". This should be the citation of the series as a whole. It was undoubtedly meant as a joke, and while perhaps syntactically incorrect, remains the true title of the series. The either/or argument commented in the edits is false.

Second TV series[edit]

If I remember correctly (I don't have a video for it) but the second TV series of Hitch Hiker's was not commissioned because the BBC assumed they could not afford Douglas Adams (after his writing success) was mentioned during The Big Read Briantist 22:51, 30 November 2006 (UTC) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Briantist (talk • contribs) 16:51, 30 November 2006.

Censorship in translation[edit]

It is noted in the article under the section "censorship" that "It should further be noted that translations of this novel [...] derive from the UK edition [...] and thus omit the description of 'Belgium.' " That is unnecesseraly true; The Hebrew translation, for example, is based on the censored version - in contrary to what the article states (and thus the Hebrew translation lists "Belgium" as the most offensive word in the universe). Think 'censorship' is the wrong word here. It's not like a single word was changed or omitted; additional dialogue and backstory were added in the U.S. version. "U.S. edit" would probably be more accurate. 50.163.198.170 (talk) 13:47, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

publication history[edit]

A section on the publication history of this book would seem like a valuable addition if anyone feels competent to write it. Unusually, the first edition of "Life..." was the paperback.
