What is your intent for this list? Diesel cars in what year? In what country? Rmhermen 18:42, May 14, 2005 (UTC)

To begin with, it's simply a list of automobiles that were made with diesel engines. I don't have good data yet for years on most of the vehicles but I'd like it to be added as I (or others) discover it. Same goes for countries.

Ultimately I'd like it to be a comprehensive resource for people (such as myself) that are interested in (for example) biodiesel-capable vehicles but have had trouble tracking down good information on what exists, new or used, that can take it (or petrodiesel) as fuel.

Hey Burner[edit]

So are you going to the Man this year? Who do you camp with? Kit 22:52:43, 2005-08-04 (UTC)

No, alas I'll be going to the Orfun Burn locally -- yes I am from Austin. Brady sounds familiar but I am terrible with names and, as you know, we have so many of them. You should come for Flipside sometime. :) Kit 22:34:38, 2005-08-05 (UTC)
Next year will be an interesting year to attend Flipside so you might keep it in mind. We'll be moving to a new land several times the size of our current property, but not growing very much from our ~1500 person population. I expect it to be an even more interesting experience than usual. We might even have cabins, talk about the Black Rock Hilton! Kit 08:32:24, 2005-08-06 (UTC)

Burner Input Requested[edit]

Jimbo Wales to Attend San Diego Meetup on October 18 2005[edit]

Hello, Jimbo Wales will be in San Diego to attend OOPSLA and has agreed to come by and visit with the San Diego wikipedians. If you are interested, you will find more info on my talk page. Johntex\talk 00:54, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Details on the Meetup[edit]

I went to the Town and Country area last night to check out restaurants. I've eaten at the restaurants in Town and Country and they weren't that great, ao I wanted to find us somewhere nearby. There is a nice but expensive steak house down the street, but I don't know what everyone's budget is. I picked this place, I hope it is OK with everyone:

  • 7:00pm Tuesday October 18th
  • 24-Hour Valley Kitchen Family Restaurant
  • 875 Hotel Circle South, Mission Valley, 619-819-1017 or 619-298-8282.
  • It is right across Highway 8 from the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center
  • It is very casual and comes highly recommended by the hotel desk. Entrees are $8-$15. They have a wide menu: They have breakfast all-days, salads, burgers, steaks, echilladas, pies, that sort of place.

See you there! Johntex\talk 01:34, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

More Burner Help Requested[edit]

I am trying to provide better sources for articles in Category:Burning Man, so I have started a collection of academic, journalistic, and other sources on the event and related subculture. Image Tagging for Image:Jason_wells_17.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jason_wells_17.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

China Brain[edit]

Hello. I see you created an article called China Brain today. Wikipedia already has an article called China brain and the two look fairly similar to me - but it's not my field. If they are the same, could you merge your text into the older article? Then the newer article can either be deleted or redirected to the old article. Mr Stephen 23:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Helixwind logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Helixwind logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:06, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Helixwind_logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Helixwind_logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Coredesat 02:24, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:54, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sandstorm: The Jim Boz Dance Company has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Little evidence of notability and the article is clearly promotional

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Goblet Drum[edit]

hi there... the page for goblet drum badly needs to be changed in its titling. It just doesn't work - there are many other kinds of goblet drum out there, such as djembe, boogaraboo, and tombek. 'Darbuka' is the most widely accepted speling to describe the drum you are talking about, and its important, becuase it is a very popular drum played all over the middle east. No-one from turkey to saudi arabia would refer to it as a 'goblet drum'. Its got no cultural basis whatsoever. Amphibio (talk) 14:31, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree... the page I wrote, prior to the merge, called it 'dumbek,' which is the correct name. Gecko (talk) 18:29, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Xara Dulzura[edit]

The article Xara Dulzura has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable event - Standard searches do not reveal enough significant coverage in independent reliable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

-- 1Wiki8Q5G7FviTHBac3dx8HhdNYwDVstR (talk) 09:25, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A tag has been placed on Talisman Dance Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♠PMC(talk) 21:36, 24 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
