-- Move to (split)... Red Lake High School massacre -- that's of course following the format of: Columbine High School massacre RoboAction 04:56, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Move Zellin 04:58, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)~

I have no problem with a move, but have a somewhat vain hope of taking the page history to the new article. Preisler 05:21, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I've made the Red Lake High School massacre into a redirect until we get this moved. No reason to have two articles on the same and this one seemed a little better Preisler 05:31, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I vote strongly for moving this article to Red Lake High School massacre. The article is about the event, the massacre, not the high school itself. Whether or not we want to split the article (as opposed to simply moving it) is open to debate, but if we retain a separate Red Lake High School article it should be about the high school itself, not specifically about the events there on 3/21/05. Moncrief 06:14, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)

When I started the article it was only based on the earliest news reports and hadn't been dubed a massacre yet. So I'm all for moving it. We could keeps this page as a redirect until someone decides to create an article on the school itself. Or hammer out a preliminary stub since it may be a little unfair to the school only to be associated with this one event. Preisler 06:26, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

What else can you tell me about Columbine other than the masacure there in '99. I agree, the artical should be renamed, but as for the school being associated with the shooting, that'll happen for a long time to come. -ZeWrestler6:48 March 22, 2005 (UTC)

Don't forget that the Columbine High School already exists and it is natural for the Columbine High School massacre article to be separate. I suggest leaving this in its present location until it settles down a bit - we can then start to split off details related to the school (if that warrants a separate article) and those related to the shootings. violet/riga (t) 09:40, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I vote for moving to Red Lake High School massacre. GhePeU 13:08, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Thinking about it the killings started before the school shootings, so should it be Red Lake massacre or something? violet/riga (t) 13:27, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

IMHO correlation with previous school shootings should be evidenced, I'd prefer Red Lake High School Massacre. GhePeU 13:35, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Unless anyone objects, I'm going to delete Red Lake High School massacre and move this page to that title. --Conti| 13:32, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)

That would be great Preisler 14:36, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Oh dear! Who did a copy and paste jobs on this one? Ruins page histories. Preisler 14:38, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

It was a duplicate article and has been merged. Jeff Wiese was moved to Red Lake High School massacre and that edit history has been reserved with a notice on the history that some content came from here. violet/riga (t) 15:01, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Shooter's age[edit]

Local news media in Minnesota and Yahoo.com [1] have reported that Jeff Weise was 17 years of age, not 15. --EisenKnoechel 14:27, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)

Article existence[edit]

Please see the vote at Talk:Red Lake High School massacre to decide the existence and content of the three articles. violet/riga (t) 20:45, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Name[edit]

Name seems to be Red Lake High School and not Red Lake Senior High School. See http://www.redlake.k12.mn.us/RLHS/. Pablo.cl (talk) 04:40, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
