LDS Category

"Notable" sounds awkward; we should assume that all people who have articles in Wikipedia are notable by default. Also, and you may have heard this, about the hysteria over Category:Mormons. My plan is to keep that category and add the subcategory Category:Latter-day Saints. In this way we can have other categories for people who are Mormon but are not members of the LDS Church.

Article Licensing

I've "started" the Free the Rambot Articles Project which aims to get users to release all of their contributions to the U.S. state, county, and city articles (if any) under the CC-by-sa 1.0 and 2.0 license (at minimum) or into the public domain if they prefer. A secondary, but equally important, goal is to get those users to release ALL of their edits for ALL articles. I've personally chosen to multi-license all of the rambot and Ram-Man contributions under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike License so that other projects, such as WikiTravel, can use our articles. I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all your contributions (or at minimum those on the geographic articles) so that we can keep most of the articles available under the multi-license. Many users use the {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} template (or even {{MultiLicensePD}} for public domain) on their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. If you only prefer using the GFDL, I understand, but I thought I'd at least ask, just in case, since the number of your edits is in the top 100. If you do want to do it, simply just copy and paste one of the above two templates into your user page and it will allow us to track those users who have done it. For example:

Option 1

I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:

Marcus Stewart is in fact a well-known footballer. You listed him for speedy deletion for "vanity". The latter is not of course a criterion for speedy deletion. I have removed the tag. Thanks, I really like it too. I actually captured it along with a few others from that trailer back in May 2002 (when the trailer was brand new), with no intent of keeping it for Wikipedia but to show for a few people who didn't have bandwidth to download the trailer. Ezra Taft Benson

A ward is what most churches refer to as a congregation. It can be comprised of between 100 and 200 families (more or less). A stake is made up of several wards. It is a superset of wards.

Each ward has a bishop. But each stake has a Stake President. In areas where membership is too low for a ward, the Church instead has a "branch." A branch will have a Branch President. Though not a bishop, he is analogous to a bishop in a ward. Branches will also fall under the umbrella of a stake. HTH. :-) — Frecklefoot | Talk 23:01, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)

This is kind of old, but I just saw you accused me of spamming the video game article. I think it's great that you're weeding out spammers on wikipedia, but I don't think it's really fair in this situation, because they do provide free statistics. Well, I've been monitoring some for quite a while, but haven't made any changes due to the level of flaming that goes on. I just didn't have the bandwidth to justify changes and argue against others. But it seemed others were handling the situations nicely. The only significant contribution (that I recall) lately is the Haun's Mill Massacre, and that was just a stub. "University"

I noticed you asked a question (perhaps just rhetoric?) in one of your edits to Sims 2 University about the need for system requirements. I believe it is a useful fact that users would appreciate being included. Its true that Maxis' main site for the game does have the system requirements, but I believe its important enough to include right on the article (The Sims 2 article does this as well). Campbell Chronology

Too late! The chronology is now underway on User:Alisonsage/Campbell Chronology. It's pretty much the same thing that's currently on the Campbell's page, just listed in chronological order. The formatting is a bunched up, I know. Franco-American deserves its own paragraph in the article, I think, because it morphed from a maker of gourmet soup into Spaghetti-O's 50 years later! Haven't finished it yet. For example: didn't included their sales figures. They're like McDonald's. My only problem is my source: America's Favorite Food: A History of Campbell Soup Company was WRITTEN by Campbell's. So the entire article's perspective is POV, without another reference citation. --allie 14:26, 14 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Re: America's Army

Well the first thought is not going to work LOL :) If you want to add it, go ahead, he'll notice and revert it. America's Army was recently added to RfC (not by myself), so I think we should just let that play out, although admittingly I don't know how that all works. I contacted Andre due in most part to him being involved with Mediation and thought he could offer some sort of advice for this situation. We'll see where this goes. Well nothing to be sorry about. I'm just tired of discussing it and arguing about it. When we started the RFC I thought we'd get a lot more comments from users and not just from a guy who's been registered with Wikipedia for only a week or two. I also quit because it appears the RFC was going no where. No one wanted to discuss the matter at all. It kept getting routed to whether video games are a notable subject for Wikipedia and about the arguement over whether the game is propaganda (which while being contested often on that article, wasn't the subject of the RFC). It really says something about Wikipedia when a complaint isn't properly heard and discussed. I obviously really like Wikipedia, but twice now I've been disgusted with it over this one article. Video Gamer revisions

Howdy, I noticed you cleaned up the "Gamer Subculture" articles. There is one particular thing in your revision that seems odd though -- "With the exception of the Gamecube, today's consoles have moved from CDs to DVDs to contain more game content."

This is partly false, as the Gamecube does in fact use DVD (And only DVD) format media. The only difference is that it's size is smaller then standard sized DVDs used by Microsoft and Sony. I'll let you decide if you want to change that or not. --140.211.122.171

Sorry, I was under the impression that they didn't use DVDs. Still it sounds like they don't use standard DVDs like the XBox and PS2 do. Bummer for them, it can only hurt sales.
