Orphaned references in Carolyn S. Shoemaker[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Carolyn S. Shoemaker's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Chapman":

  • From Eugene Merle Shoemaker: Chapman, Mary G. "Carolyn Shoemaker." USGS Astrogeology Center. May 17, 2002. Accessed April 24, 2017.
  • From Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9: Chapman, C. R. (June 1993). "Comet on target for Jupiter". Nature. 363 (6429): 492–493. Bibcode:1993Natur.363..492C. doi:10.1038/363492a0.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 21:16, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maiden name?[edit]

Why does this article refer to her by her married name in the very first sentence about her birth? Should we hold off on using the last name "Shoemaker" until after she gets married? --JDspeeder1 (talk) 03:42, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
