When is a building not a building (FAO User:Honeydew)[edit]

Actually Canary Wharf is and single building (although I appreciate that you are probably coming from the perfectly correct 1 Canada Square <> Canary Wharf angle), but I'm not going to get stressed over this because the point is still made with your amendment.

Manufacturing employment data[edit]

There should be more up to date breakdowns - 2002 at least. If anyone can crack the labyrithine enigma that is the pisspoor ONS website and find it, please fill yer boots. Icundell 12:13, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Public sector as % GDP[edit]

In the Times recently was an article about a "Soviet north" (as they described it) which is heavily dependent on the public sector. I can remember some of the figures - 67% for Northern Ireland, 30-something% for London and the South East, 60+% for most of the North... It would be good to include something about this in the article, I'll see if I can find the Times story, although it will probably be subscription-only now. -- Joolz 23:59, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Expansion request[edit]

Rather predictably this article is overweighted towards primary industries and manufacturing. It needs extensive additions on the service sector, especially outside financial services, and on the role of the public sector in the economy. Osomec 07:18, 10 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Interwar aerospace clusters[edit]

In case anyone was wondering about my addition of London to the inter-war aerospace clusters, there were many other locations in and around London as well as the Hertfordshire group: Stag Lane (Handley Page), Cricklewood (Smiths Industries), Park Royal (Lucas Aerospace), Weybridge (forerunners of British Aircraft Corporation), Hayes (Fairey Aviation), Heston (Heston Aircraft Company), Kingston (Hawker Siddeley), Acton (Napier & Son), Hendon Aerodrome (Grahame-White Aviation), etc Pterre (talk) 21:22, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
