Waveform vs radio[edit]

Sinncgars is both a series of radios and also a waveform implemented on several software defined radios. Either there should be a disambiguation page, a note, or the waveform information should be included here. There are several radios still in production that use sincgars waveforms. This could lead to confussion if the waveform is not at least mentioned. I will be glad to do the change if anyone agrees. Williambhunter (talk) 14:12, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SINCGARS is not a radio or a waveform, but a system. The system is comprised of a family of radios that use the same over-the-air protocol or 'waveform'. Those radios also operate in the same frequency band (30-88 MHz). ARC-222[edit]

Despite what is referenced in several web pages (even robins.af.mil), Magnavox, not Raytheon built the first ARC-222. I found one reference to back this up at www.forecastinternational.com/Archive/dc/dc1879.doc. Additionally, I was the AF test engineer for the ARC-222 until Dec 1995, and I still have the coffee mug from Magnavox for the program.

Title[edit]

Seeing as how SINCGARS is an acronym I believe the title needs to be changed using the full name of this radio system with the acronym in parenthesis. Dmanrock29 (talk) 00:58, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dmanrock29 I think WP:COMMONNAME applies. Isn't it most commonly known as SINCGARS? If so, the title is correct. 220 of ^Borg 05:25, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mil Gibberish[edit]
