Trivia[edit]

Aren't all the facts listed in the "Voice acting" section all of a rather trivial nature? Shiroi Hane 20:36, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now that the voice part was taken care of, is it true that Romi-san has a cousin in the Spice Girls? Need to find some reliable sources, preferably from Japanese media. Ominae 06:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been able to find any sources that support this claim, so I went ahead and deleted the statement. firefoot77 (talk) 08:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
..and what do you say about her "blood type"? hahaha --Karljoos (talk) 06:23, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move?[edit]

She has a Korean surname-- shouldn't it be romanized as "Pak"? Evan1975 03:20, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Songs/Drama[edit]

Do we really need to list all the songs she's done for anime? It seems repetitive and just clutters the article. If no one says anything, I'll boldly remove them because I honestly don't think it's needed. Jezebel Parks 22:53, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shoudn't her surname be in Japanese?[edit]

Shouldn't her surname be in Japanese, as in Romi Paku? Samantha Lim88 08:37, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree. That's what she's know as by most. Jezebel Parks 17:46, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Park RomiRomi Paku — This is the name that most people know her by. If you say "Park Romi" near anyone who knows her, they will most likely look at you strangely and say "Do you mean Paku Romi?" While I understand that she is Korean and Park Romi is her Korean name, it is the same as celebrities such as 50 cent or voice actors like Eric Vale using a name other than the one they are born with. —Jezebel Parks 18:01, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per what my nomination above states. Jezebel Parks 18:02, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I support the Paku spelling (that's what she's known by and goes by, not Bak, Pak, or Park). "Park" is a popular choice for Koreans who live in the States, but that doesn't mean anything that I am aware of in this particular case. Couldn't find an article on Americanization of immigrant names. —Tokek 18:20, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - It should be Pak, though, not Park or Paku. Some Korean language speakers' input would be nice. Hill of Beans 17:23, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • But why Pak over Bak or Paku? All four versions are to some degree "valid", we just have to choose which is "best." BTW an example of romaji-usage by an immigrant exists: Debito ArudouTokek 18:58, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. I support the Paku Romi spelling as this is what her name states in all the Drama CDs and in the anime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samantha Lim88 (talkcontribs) 14:10, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
It should be Romi Pak, period. Check the McCune-Reischauer reading; it matches the furigana perfectly. She has a Korean name; 朴 is read "Boku" in Japanese, not "Paku", and the ro kanji (璐) in Romi (璐美) doesn't even exist in Japanese. Evan1975 17:04, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • Is the name Paku Romi supposed to be Romi Paku according to the Western order? And I checked the Japanese Wikipedia and found out that her father is Japanese and her mother is Korean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samantha Lim88 (talkcontribs) 14:12, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
Here's something I found that may be of help: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (Korean) Evan1975 17:16, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Japanese wikipedia says her father is second generation Zainichi Korean and her mother is Korean. Evan1975 (talk) 22:54, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given name[edit]

The given name of this woman is "Park Romi" in Korean. While her name has perpetually been parsed as "Romi Paku" in the animation communities, the name she uses in English for herself is "Romi Park" and not "Romi Paku". I've found her name written in English in a Japanese publication as "Romi Park" which is why I've moved the page to this position, and it should remain here regardless of common name usage. The official spelling trumpts a common spelling in every instance.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:52, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Korean reading Bak Romi or Bang Nomi?[edit]

Bak Romi is phonemic, but how is it pronounced in Korean? Is it like Bang Nomi, as one might expect from Korean phonology? - Gilgamesh (talk) 02:50, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First time editing, just wanted to know if it will be rejected or accepted.[edit]

As title states. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhetoriks (talkcontribs) 06:18, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not moved. There is a clear absence of consensus to move at this time. bd2412 T 03:58, 19 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Romi ParkRomi Paku – She naturalized to Japan in 2015. 2001:2D8:E19C:ED5:0:0:3D04:30B1 (talk) 07:01, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Per WP:COMMONNAME, we use the name that is mostly commonly used in reliable English-language sources. At this time, said sources use "Romi Park" to identify the individual.[1][2][3] Her official blog (linked in article) also uses Romi Park.[4] Unless the proposer can demonstrate that Romi Paku is in greater use by reliable English-language sources, this this article should remain at its current name. —Farix (t | c) 13:33, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per TheFarix. "Romi Paku" is already mentioned in the article, and virtually every English reference uses "Park" as opposed to "Paku". Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:39, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notable List/Vandalism[edit]

Everyone, we must keep be vigilant in protecting Romi Park's wikipedia page from vandals who would damage it. It's true that editing is an open field to everyone, but it can also be incredibly frustrating when a new credit to her notable list or credits are deleted because they're not "relevant or they take up too much space". So that's why for a while we must enact a protection on Romi's page so that it won't be vandalised any longer by unwanted hecklers. Steveman 723 (talk) 15:56, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well there it says in the discussion filed here. You are adding the list of notable works of Romi Park in anime because there is more space and there was no vandalism on this page, just that you are already warned. 148.101.34.233 (talk) 17:50, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
