Arcade games project[edit]

Thanks for adding the infoboxes to the various arcade games articles. The infobox is one feature of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Arcade Games. If you'd like to join and offer input on the project, come on over to the project and add yourself to the list of participants. Thanks again! Frecklefoot | Talk 19:49, Aug 13, 2004 (UTC)

Note to myself[edit]

Write articles about early 3D computer games like Carrier Command, Star Glider and Star Glider 2.

Way ahead on you on Carrier Command. JIP | Talk 16:09, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Arcade Infobox Notes/Ports[edit]

I've started a poll regarding the final decision (hopefully) of the Notes and Ports fields of Template:Infobox Arcade Game. Since you've been involved prior discussion on the WikiProject, your vote would be helpful. Poiuyt Man talk 7 July 2005 17:14 (UTC)

Frogger C64 screenshot[edit]

How do you know what version this is? There is no identification at all, not even a copyright notice. I suspect it is an unlicensed clone. Mirror Vax 19:21, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City screenshots listed for deletion[edit]

Good day. I have listed five of you screenshots for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion (August 27) under the following reasons:

 • I found that the current screenshots were of jpeg extensions, since I had jpg images, I would probably end up submitting the screenshots as new images anyway.
 • Image:Vice-city-pc-police.jpeg was replace by Image:GTAVC PC Police.jpg because there wasn't enough action in the former. The addition of a chopper and more police officers (or their dead bodies) could help. I also liked to see some reaction for Tommy Vercetti when he is being pursued by the cops, hence the shooting.

This is all. :) ╫ 25 ring-a-ding 20:37, 27 August 2005 (UTC) ╫[reply]

Hi there, I'm currently aiming to get the Wonder Boy article to featured article status and have been adding any information I could on the game and have been trying to make the article of encyclopedic quality. It's reaching a bit of a bursting point now, so it would be good to get some feedback on the changes. I noticed you had contributed to the series in some way or another so I thought you may be able to comment. Thanks in advance. Jamyskis Whisper, Contribs Germany 11:13, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gta3-pc-taxi.jpeg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gta3-pc-taxi.jpeg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 00:46, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User: IMPORTANT WIKI ARCADE GAMES PROJECT NOTICE[edit]

As you should be aware the wiki arcade games project has been marked inactive and with good reason. I am trying to increase the activity of this project but first I need to know who is still actually interested. So to find out I have put inactive next to the name of every person who has put them selves down as a participant of the project. If for whatever reason you do not intend to participate in the project anymore please remove your name from the participant list altogether. If you do but not in the near future leaving inactive next to your username will be helpful. Not taking any action at all will of course lead to inactive remaining against your name on the participant list. If however you have every intention on continuing in participating in the project please come change the "inactive" next to your username to "ACTIVE" so that it is clear who does and who does not still have interest in participating in the project. Thankyou for your time. --Hybrid360 (talk) 20:07, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gta3-pc-walking.jpeg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Gta3-pc-walking.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Zginder 2008-05-17T17:55Z (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
