The words: "And is the only person who is able to drink more then three of them in one sitting." I am talking about how Zaphod invented the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster and he is infact NOT the only one who can drink more then three in one sitting. He has, in my knowlage, drinken Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters for an intire night, and others are quite capable of drinking at least five before having to stop because they got drunk. Or because it hurts their brain to much to continue. You do remember that it says, (everywhere) that the affects of drinking a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster "Is like having your brains smashed out with a slice of Lemon wraped round a large gold brick." But there are still others who can drink more. It is in the book. Ford Prefect got very drunk after drinking at leave five. Or six or some number like that. The point is I was those words removed because they are not true at all. Thank you. 75.210.188.53 (talk) 20:40, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Depiction of the effect of the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster[edit]

Hi,

I created some pictures of the effect of the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster and would like to propose including one of them in the correspondig section of this article. -- Nsh2g2 (talk) 21:34, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add

Artistic depiction of the effect of the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster

Directly below the line

==Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster==

I proposed this more than a week ago and there were no objections. Niko (talk) 21:48, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I didn't see your earlier request, but in any case I do not think adding this image would be helpful. It's cool that you made it, but at the same time it's not a picture of an actual Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster (and no such picture will ever exist), nor is it able to accurately illustrate the "effect of a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster", since that was never something that was meant to be possible to illustrate visually. I don't think adding pictures of things made by H2G2 fans in this case helps the reader better understand any of the content of the article. rʨanaɢ (talk) 00:06, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Complaint re omitting the 2005 MOVIE from this essay (Oct. 2019)[edit]

As a resident of the U.S.A. who has NOT read most of the novels or seen any of the U.K./English TV shows or listened to any of the U.K./English radio broadcasts, I should note that I was totally BEFUDDLED and FLUMMOXED by this essay.

It gave almost NO clue as to whether this character of "Zaphod Beeblebrox" even appeared in the recent "HG2G" movie. So, for an hour, I thought I had stumbled into the WRONG Wikipedia article. And yet MILLIONS of more people around the globe are aware of Douglas Adams' creative work from this 2005 cinematic version than from all other sources combined.

For instance, NEITHER one of the two posted pics within the Wiki essay even pertains to the movie. So I must inquire: Is this a reflection of English, elitist, Tory, upper-class snobbery? As a distant descendant of Patriotic Rebels and American Revolutionaries who humiliated the red-coated King George royalists, my own family remains proud that we sent the rich, anti-republican traitors among our relatives packing to the frigid wilds far, far up North. We certainly need NO House of Lords, landed gentry, big-eared Prince/ King Charles, bewigged aristocratic judges, monarchy-owned property, or inbred German royalty here. We have enough problems with a German-sent clone of the clown Boris Johnson!

So, to help you Guys on the path toward some literary balance, let me try to include just one pic of "Zaphod Beeblebrox" --- played by the noted actor Sam Rockwell --- from the 2005 Hollywood movie named "HG2G":

In conclusion: If you young Guys keep sending us the fine humor [never "humour"], writings, and music of U.K. people such as Douglas Adams, J. K. Rowling, and The Beatles, we shall be glad to keep churning out all the big-screen Hollywood MOVIES !!!  ;-)

{ Just don't forget that we have already provided you with Lend-Lease armaments (prior to joining your 2nd world war), with humorist Mark Twain, Aretha Franklin, Irving Berlin, Louis Armstrong, with Gen. George C. Marshall's post-war plan for European Recovery, with Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and with the comedic Robin Williams. }
