Zhang Jiao's Way Of Peace[edit]

In the history of the Way of Peace, Jiao met with an old man, according to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, in an cave and was given scrolls of how life for people should be treated and how life is lived. After gaining a comprehension of what the scrolls said, Zhang Jiao begins to spread the new way of how the everything should be and what isn't humanly right for people.

The Han is Dead! Long Live the Yellow Turbans![edit]

With Zhang Jiao and his brothers spreading word of a new age, many followers and people all over China begin to join with the teachings. Soon after the Han learned of Jiao's plan, chaos broke free among the land with the Yellow Turban army bringing a new age for peace. Even though many died at the their hands, Zhang Jiao (In a way of speaking), had the idea of how life for the people should be decided.

YELLOW TURBAN RULE!!! --Sho Luo 07:36, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)Bigboss

umm...[edit]

ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but his name is Zhang Jue and They were the Yellow Scarves, not The Yellow Turbans. At least, accorting to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which seems to be a lot more historically acurate. For example, it would be much more logical to call the The Yellow Scarves(like in ROTK), as they wore Yellow Scarves. So Why call them yellow Turbans?

The Way of Peace[edit]

It is true that Zhang Jiao is really Jue but information about his name may not be 100% accurate. As for the Yellow Turban or Yellow Scarves, either name is perfectly good to call this rebellion. In the Eastern lands, it is called the Yellow Scarves because of the style since many military officals wear the scarves like that; however, the Yellow Turban name as it is called in the western land, is also a cap style wore by people every day. (If that made any sense at all)

More importantly, weather they are called the Yellow Turbans or Scarves, either name fits their description best but, they should be known as the name they were called which, of course, is the Yellow Scarves. --Zhang Liao 04:40, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This could just be me but...[edit]

I think there's too much stuff on his video game counterpart and not enough about the real person, plus the writing seems a little uninformal.(hippy magician?) ~M.M~

Teachings?[edit]

Is there information on what he is supposed to have taught, or, what he did indeed teach? If not write such, if so, then shouldn't you include something about such? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thaddeus Slamp (talkcontribs) 01:25, 6 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Zhang JiaoZhang Jue — "Zhang Jue" is overwhelmingly used over "Zhang Jiao" in scholarship, while "Zhang Jiao" is used mostly in a non-academic context like in video games. Thus I believe this page should be moved to Zhang Jue. Please discuss. _dk (talk) 04:46, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the move. I like the older name better. -- A-cai (talk) 01:57, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. Translated versions of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms typically use this form[1] as does Britannica and the external link from the article. Zhang Jiao is a misreading due the fact that the second character, 角, is usually read as jiǎo in other contexts. — AjaxSmack 07:04, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
