This short "biography" is incomplete and misleading. For starters, if one is to write about his political career, it should be included that he used to be a communist cq. maoist. Of course, anyone that supports Marijnissen and would like him to be taken seriously would not like to include this in a bio on him and his political past. For now, for a complete picture on Marijnissen use google and forget this article as it is to date.

Additionally this article should mention the awards he has received from the Dutch press and Member of Parliament (MP) alike for being the best MP. For what it's worth: i don't know about his past if it's communist/maoist or not, but any complete article should include his political development. However, i don't like the statement above "anyone that supports Marijnissen and would like him to be taken seriously would not like to include this in a bio on him and his political past." for far too many reasons to mention.

The Socialist Party and Jan Marijnissen indeed have a maoist past. Altough this episode may not be covered by this wikipedia article as it should be, the suggestion that it is covered up is incorrect. The SP website (http://www.sp.nl/) is open about the past and Jan Marijnissen himself has been elaborating on it several times on Dutch national television in the months leading up to the 2006 elections.
