  • keep - checking the Oldham Chronicle website [1] will confirm that this is the Graham McGuffie. It just needs NPOV treatment. The article will only remain on the Chronicle website for one week, but it should outlast this VfD process. If you retain this page, I shall make it NPOV, factual and relevant.
    • "The" Graham McGuffie? Looks like just "a" Graham McGuffie. And sign your posts, SimonMayer. -- Cyrius | Talk 19:57, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)
    • Yes, the Graham McGuffie. In the sense that he is the Graham McGuffie whom the article is a reference to. I consider that as he is farely well known in my area of Oldham and its surroundings, he is of encyclopaedic value. Also, sorry I missed off my name tag.

      • Calling him the Graham McGuffie implies that he is famous enough that another person with the same name is likely to be confused with him. Given that before this stuff started showing up on VfD, I had never heard of Graham McGuffie, the Blue Coat School, or even Oldham, I don't think he's that famous. -- Cyrius | Talk 21:46, Apr 2, 2004 (UTC)
    • By that very argument many could claim Magnus I of Norway should be deleted. I hadn't heard of him until I clicked Random page. To claim the deletion of articles which you know nothing about is just selfish and ignorant.

      • You are twisting my arguments, sir. The "never heard of him" was an argument for why he is not famous, not the whole of a deletion argument. Magnus I is not famous (in the U.S.), but his relevance becomes apparent when one reads the article. What's the relevance of "teacher with a megaphone"? I had a teacher who used a megaphone, does he deserve an article? I'm not seeing why the world at large needs to know about this guy, and the article is doing nothing to explain why the world does.-- Cyrius | Talk 02:15, Apr 3, 2004 (UTC)
    • I'm just claiming, he does have relevance to some people. The article is clearly POV right now, it's like The Ugly Duckling, it can be made into a swan.

  • Delete: nobody in particular. I wonder how long it will take for Blue Coat School, Oldham to go out of date. Wile E. Heresiarch 03:37, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep: Graham McGuffie, prominent figure in education in the North West of England. Trans-atlantic relevance may be slender, but worth consideration. Ele 01:34 08 April 2004 (UTC)
