Comment[edit]

Not sure how good this is, but it's a start. Lots of models are probably missing... --SFoskett 19:20, Jan 14, 2005 (UTC)

ZX2 in 70s?[edit]

It seems wrong to list the Ford Escort ZX2 in the 1970s just because the European model of Escort started in the 70s ... —Morven 19:53, May 19, 2005 (UTC)

Template vs. Category?[edit]

Template:Ford vs. Category:Ford_vehicles

I went through and added this template to a number of Ford vehicles, and now it seems that people from various parts of the world are adding and subtracting vehicles based on a local perspective. For example, removing Ford Escort from the 1970's because it wasn't introduced in North America until the 1980's, or adding Ford Maverick to the list of vehicles of the 1990's because that is when it was introduced to Europe.

For reference, Chevrolet has a list of it's vehicles on the main page, while Dodge links to List of Dodge automobiles. Aside from Template:Mazda, I haven't been able to find any other vehicle specific templates.

So, is it worth it to attempt to maintain a vehicle specific template, or should it just go to the list of vehicles category? Mcneight 00:53, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

March 18th edits[edit]

Just as a heads up, I made a series of edits to this template on March 18 based on some formating issues that I found with the Automobile Template page. Between this template and the Ford motor Company template there were two pieces of code that effected all code/text that followed it to force justify center. The problem appears to have ben one missed coded that started one templte and another that ended a template. All fixed now (I hope). Stude62 22:29, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Decade usage[edit]

Is the decade usage the decade of the first appearance of the model name, or the period in which the model was available? This ought to be made clear somewhere. It appears to be decade of name first use. The Anglia went through 4 different model numbers and two distinctly different bodies from 1940 to 1960s. The conflation of cars for different markets is also confusing. GraemeLeggett 09:54, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to consolidate all the decades into one section, to shorten the template height and remove redundancy. Any objections? --Vossanova o< 17:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is globally and international corporate Ford Motor Company template, basic idea, all the parts, all car, all subsidiaries. --Tomcha (talk) 17:36, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

US or international?[edit]

Is this list supposed to be for Ford USA or does it include international models too? It could get mighty confusing if the latter. It seems to be mostly American models at the moment but with curious additions like a Ford Taiwan van. ??

Also, given the massive size of this thing, I think it would be better to put trucks and commercials in a seperate template. --kingboyk 19:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

International, here’s US Ford cars template Template:Ford vehicles, here’s Europe Ford cars template Template:FordEurope. And category all Ford templates. --Tomcha (talk) 17:48, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1930's Model C (among others) points to earlier version[edit]

The link to the 1930's Model C points to the earlier 1900's version of the Model C. There are other mis-links as well. Enjoy! Saintrain (talk) 16:47, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
