Horrible! You can't have a Tracey Gold stub and not talk about her anorexia. It's against the law. Mike H 16:40, Jul 11, 2004 (UTC)

Mug shot?[edit]

Is the mug shot the best photo we can use for this article? I would have expected a photo from the Growing Pains era instead. --Metropolitan90 06:45, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because it is a United States mug shot, it is in the public domain, which means that it is free and reusable, and we always choose free, reusable images over unfree-copyrighted ones. That said, it would be great if someone were able to track down a photograph of Gold from a better-known time in her life which the photographer were willing to license under a free, reusable license. She got behind the wheel legally drunk and nearly killed one child and put her family in danger, and you are worried about she looks 'a bit chubby'?--71.34.214.212 00:31, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
71.213.37.142's comment was meant as a facetious insult anyway; earlier, that user had vandalized the article, mocking Tracey's former battle with anorexia.--Parous 08:04, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
More pertinant is the fact that Gold is not best known for being a criminal, and thus is not best represented by a mug shot. Pacian 04:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was just leafing through some different actor bios when I came across this one. I was shocked by the use of the mugshot as the only photo to identify her. After all, the caption does call it the "worst night of her life." Is that really necessary to identify her with that? --68.106.58.239 08:26, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that another non-mugshot photo should be posted, feel free to find one.--71.34.214.212 00:31, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid — photos are supposed to illustrate an article, and I think a mugshot represents one aspect of a biographical article instead of the person as a whole. I don't think it's showing Gold special treatment to not feature the photo, do other celebs like Hugh Grant have their mugshots as part of their articles? They are known for their careers, and these arrests are footnotes. OJ Simpson is the exception, of course! As a matter of fact, it's a little disparaging if headshots are the only pics featured. I'm not going to take it off, but it seems salacious. TAnthony 03:31, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
