Is this was written in 1984 and published until 1987?[edit]

Based on the version of the same song "I'm the man '91" that came on the Attack of the Killer B's album (released in 1991), on the lyrics it clearly says that this was written 7 years ago and that "7 year later it still holding up fine", I think this is relevant since this will put this song as the first rap metal song chronologically speaking...

This EP was released well after the initial release of I'm The Man, though I can't seem to find references to it. What seems almost certain though is that it was not released on January 1, 1987. For one thing, on this very page it says it was recorded in 1987. Not true for the studio version of I'm The Man (as you noted) but definitely true for the live tracks. I have the CD booklet in front of me and it says, "Live tracks recorded July 11, 1987 at the Arcadia." But that's original research. It was the B-side of I Am The Law, recorded in 1986. Can't find references for when it was written but there is a wiki entry for the single.

I'm the Man is also the name of Joe Jackson's second studio album, but a search for "I'm the Man" brings me to this page.

Because of Anthrax's hardcore influences and because it was the first rap metal/hardcore crossover

Written three years before?[edit]

The citation references a site that has nothing but lyrics to the 1991 version of the song and nowhere does it state the song was written years before.

If you actually read the lyrics on that link you would have known that. Everyone that owned the Attack of the Killer B's album knew that, so i don't understand why people comment on band if they don't know their songs.
