Hi, I'm Sandy Scragg, an Instructional Technology Integration Specialist ("ITIS") with the New York City Department of Education in Region 9. This year, I am working with teachers at The Heritage School, a small high school in East Harlem, Manhattan, as well as other schools in Region 9.

Before becoming an ITIS, I was the Director of TeachNet at Teachers Network, a non-profit education organization. TeachNet is a technology professional development program that publishes teachers' work online. And...before Teachers Network, I was a high school English teacher at Murry Bergtraum High School in downtown Manhattan. I earned both my B.A. and M.A. from NYU.

I am a proud New York City native currently living in Hoboken, New Jersey --and ironically, now I have a much better commute! Hoboken is a lovely brownstone community right across the Hudson River from Manhattan, famous for the birth of both baseball and Frank Sinatra.

I am married to Brian Brodeur, a musician and small business owner. He started his own DVD production company in 2001 called New York DVD. We live happily in Hoboken with a fat orange cat named Vinnie, and will welcome a new addition to our family in August!
