Sorry to vandalize my own page. Here is the record:

  • On 21/Apr/2005 I deleted everything because it was old and stale.
  • On 04/Oct/2006 I did the same. I didn't like some of the comments I was getting. I am getting kinda bored with all the reverts and "irrelevant" votes and ratings and what have you.
  • And again on 11/Feb/2007.

I was waiting for you... hehe. You and I have unfinished business.

--Damifb 12:55, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ginassssia...[edit]

Pense que el mote de 'subcampeones' era mas generalizado, como 'gallinas', 'capeon de copas', et al. Ahora lo saco.

Che, que mal que vienen los equipos argentinos en las copas ultimamente, espero que le podamos ganar a los brazucas.

Squad templates[edit]

Hi, I intend to do something about the squad templates over the next few days and weeks, its hard to keep track of exactly who's in and out when most of the club websites dont keep their squads uptodate, also the transfer window is still open so there are probably still more squad changes before the end of the month. I will however take Calderon etc out of the Estudiantes template to save your eyes a bit ;)King of the North East 11:58, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leandro Desábato[edit]

Ok. I see now that the other page indicated has a reference which I had missed. Still think there should be a reference in the Leandro Desábato article itself. Also, the article needs an infobox, and other standard information. We are trying hard to standardize and document Argentinean football in WP:ArF. Please join us by adding your name to the list and helping improve the information on Estudiantes and other teams (yes, pinchas are accepted too :-) -- Alexf(t/c) 21:22, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Diego[edit]

Please provide references to your addition. `'Míkka 02:34, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For the additions at the beginning, you may want to look up "Jacobo" in the Spanish Wikipedia at [1], or this article (in Spanish): [2] with roughly the same content.
"Diaz" as patronymic is explained in literally hundreds of places, including all student editions of the Cid. See for example this (in Spanish): [3] or this Portuguese Wikipedia article [4]
The additions at the end (history sections) are all referenced to the respective texts, some of them may be available at a library near you. I do not know if any of them is online. elpincha 14:10, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you approve[edit]

I hope you like what I did to the Notable players in the Estudiantes article, I found a few missing ones to add in as well. The picture was on Spanish wikipedia. If you have any comments or suggestions let me know, take care. King of the North East (T/C) 00:34, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Veron[edit]

People keep changing Veron's current club to D.C. United, do you think there's any truth behind the rumours? --King of the NorthEast 02:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

articulo falso[edit]

KeNNy 17:09, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Agur as a Prophet in Christianity[edit]

I put Agur as a Prophet in Christianity because I am using as reference List of Prophets of Christianity. I am also using this for any other names you may have removed from this Category Kathleen.wright5 08:22, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your "fact" tag placed upon Agur in the List of Prophets of Christianity, since the reference is already provided by the list element. Proverbs 30:1 identifies the words of Agur as "prophecy," fulfilling the inclusion criteria of the list as "either by explicit statement or strong contextual implication." Naturally, one speaking prophecy is a prophet. Now, just about every commentary I've seen about that verse speaks about "Agur the prophet," so technically the list item can be sourced externally, but that would be redundant, not to mention unique among the other entries that are simply relying on the primary source material as indicated in the header section. Zahakiel 03:29, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Care to cite some of said commentary? elpincha (talk) 18:01, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Of course: "On the Purity of The Heart," by Rev. John Witherspoon, "The Privy Key of Heaven," from The Complete Works of Thomas Brooks, "Accidents DO Happen!" by Herman L. Hoeh, from the "Good News" newsletter of the Worldwide Church of God, "His Son's Name," by Dr. Henry M. Morris... I could literally go on for hours, and these are all published and recognized Bible commentators from a variety of movements (see the entry on the WCOG re: Dr. Hoeh, for example). As I said in my comment on your page, for the purposes of that list, the primary source is the material used, since it is hardly a controversial list. Zahakiel 18:15, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your additions to the Agur article are very precise and informative :) Zahakiel 17:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Estudiantes players[edit]

Hi, I just made these, maybe you could look over them and make sure they are O.K.

    • Maybe you could get La Volpe as your new manager, since he's already given you one championship ;-). King of the NorthEast 18:49, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sensini[edit]

I saw you comment his name out on the Estudiantes article, I don't know why people are so keen to be the first to announce managerial appointments, transfers etc. I get so sick of reverting them and all the unsourced rumours, Veron to Sunderland, Falcao Garcia to Aston Villa, Sergio Agüero to Newcastle. I just wish these people could do some constructive editing rather than trying to predict the future. Anyway what do you make of Sensini? he wasn't very good at Udinese, maybe he'll do better in his homeland? Regards, King of the NorthEast 01:52, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clasico[edit]

Hi mate, I just did this La Plata derby, perhaps you could look over it for any mistakes. It still needs statistics on the topscorers in the history of the clasico platense, I imagine there are more players who have played for both clubs too. Let me know if you know of any good sources of information and statistics. Best wishes, English peasant 23:20, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Elpincha, I am totally shocked at the very un-encyclopedic remarks you have made in the Public Transport section of Buenos Aires

Here are the facts:

1] That "...there have been cases of taxi drivers robbing assaulting passengers", maybe, but as a matter of fact, Buenos Aires its the second favourite city by travelers according to Travel +Leisure Magazine worlds best / 2007 so over 5 million tourists cant be wrong. I have been assaulted by taxi drivers in New York and pickpockets in Milano but trivial info like this is not mentioned in their pages.
By the way, Buenos Aires tourism growth is impressive and is expected to grow even more in coming years, I dont work for the tourism company, just travel a lot to BsAs and most taxi drivers are magnificent human beings compared to other cities.
2] That "...there is no city operated transit, and there is no transfer scheme across lines!", RE: Buenos Aires has one of the best transportation systems of the world according to Urban Design publications, and cheapest too, that is what "competition" is, trademark to the free world!
3] That "Bus line operators must comply with city regulations on security and pollution control..." RE: unfortunately buses are highly polluting but this you did not include!
4] That "Organized crime "used to control" the access of taxis to the city airports and other major destinations." again, trivial info like this is not mentioned in articles of other "well known international cities" in wich this occurrs and has occurred!
and finally...
5] Buenos Aires indeed did have the largest street railway system in the world with Chicago being a close second, need citations, will look them up for you!

So, personally I believe your comments about Public Transport section of Buenos Aires are bias opinionated and way off and should be reverted to expressions made originally by possibly new Wikipedian Contributor: 67.224.161.28.

No worries[edit]

I like tidying up around here, so it was fun to learn a bit about Pachame, one of the most important footballers I've written about in a good while. Just one request though; could you make sure to add categories (such as Category:Argentine footballers or whatever is appropriate) to the articles you create. It makes it so much easier for other editors to find them. All the best. English peasant 21:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alejandro Scopelli[edit]

Hi, someone asked a question here. It seems Portuguese Wikipeidia states that he won the Portuguese league in 1930 while our article (Alejandro Scopelli) states that he was playing for Estudiantes at the time. Perhaps you could help to clarify the missing information if possibe, kind regards as always, King of the North East 01:23, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the french who has ansked the question about contradictions between english and spanish articles. And I wonder if he was manager of Mexico and Portugal because of english article. In spanish, I haven't see that. So could you help me to resume corretcly articles?Thank you so much!!!!!!!FCNantes72 (french contributor) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.195.169.157 (talk) 10:39, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, and please get a user name so I can answer properly on your talk page :-). Scopelli was a manager in Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Portugal. He also managed the Chile national side. It is unclear whether Scopelli deserves any credit as a player for Benfica's 1942 title, since he was signed on the roster but (if sources are to be believed) did not see playing time. As for his manager titles, he obtained a championship title with Universidad de Chile ("the blue ballet", 1967), and also won two Copa Mexico titles with Club América (1964 and 1965). See the respective articles, if possible in English, since the information there is complete and correct. elpincha (talk) 14:54, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Elpincha:

Thank you for your interest in Balvanera.

Please, remember that the "Plaza Del Congreso" is often incorrectly thought of as "Plaza de los Dos Congresos" for the monument by that name (the misnomer is explained here). You also routinely reversed my replacement of an image of the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine for one of Plaza Primero de Mayo. The school of medicine, as you may know, is technically in the Recoleta ward of Buenos Aires (as it was built on the northern side of Córdoba Avenue).

No worries, though: it's a common mistake (I've heard my parents, who lived near the area in the 1970s, refer to the square as "Plaza de los Dos Congresos" in the past). I hope this cleared up the misunderstanding. Write me back if you'd like.

My regards, Sherlock4000 (talk) 00:15, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No sweat; keep in mind, though, that there's a link to Congressional Plaza in the article.

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Elpincha! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,098 article backlog. Argentina Portal[edit]

I know you are doing good work on Argentina-related articles. I'd like to talk about the lack of Argentina editors. We used to have many and they have faded years ago. I'd like to remind people to become a member of WikiProject Argentina and contribute there to coordinate efforts. Also to remind people to add your contributions to the Argentina-related regional notice board so we can all be informed of new pages or major article rebuilds. Now, to get to the main point of this message. Years ago the Argentina Portal was neglected for lack of maintainers. I became the de-facto main (and sole) editor in 2008 and have been adding news and contributions to the article/image of the month features ever since. I requested some collaboration at the time but nobody came forward. That is fine. I am not asking for contributions and I plan to keep on maintaining the site. I feel it is important to show a good image of Argentina to the en.WP community and to the English-speaking world at large. Hence the interest in having a good-looking, properly maintained portal. What I am asking for is a second set of eyes to look at it, comment and criticize, and to suggest good articles/images for the monthly feature. I know we are all busy with our own projects in Wikipedia. I am not asking for edits, just for suggestions when you come across a good article or image. Let me know by Talk message or email, and I will do the work of posting it (hint: I post article/image of the month way in advance to ease the load). I would like to get the Argentina Portal to Featured Portal status, but it is not easy to do without some help. At least C&C. Thank you for your attention and sorry for the long-winded message. -- Alexf(talk) 13:35, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Juan Manuel Azconzábal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Basque (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Idan Raichel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.cumbancha.com/idan-raichel-biography-eng/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
