Soldiers[edit]

If you consider the Hezbollah terrorists who invaded Israel and murdered 8 and kidnapped 2 soldiers from Israeli territory to be 'soldiers', I have news for you. A 'soldiers' is someone who acts on behalf of a sovereign state, a government. Apparently then, you consider these Hezbollah 'soldiers' to operate on behalf of the Lebanese government. In that case, I should inform you that invading another country's territory and murdering and kidnapping on that country's territory is seen in international law as being an act of war. So according to your version, Lebanon declared war on Israel. Is that really what you wanted to say? --Daniel575 02:28, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree with Daniel as Hezbollah is technically not a state, and is considered by the west to be a terrorist organization. Axeman89 02:50, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(Reply from my talk page) Personally I agree that Hezbollah can be considered the army of Lebanon. But if you want to see it that way, it implies that Lebanon declared war on Israel. We don't want to imply that, do we? So 'terrorist' would be the best way to describe it. --Daniel575 03:41, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you are right, 'militant' is the best word we can use. Everybody agrees on that word, I think. You're right in what you say, definitely. May I ask where you are from, are you yourself Arab? You seem to be pretty well aware of the situation in the Arab world.
